Qualifications and Experience

I'm a highly qualified and experienced therapist. I have been working in clinical practice since 2005 and, in that time, have accumulated thousands of hours of experience and knowledge of helping people.

I have over a decade of experience lecturing at universities across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate third-level programmes in counselling and psychotherapy.

I hold a Professional Doctorate in Health (DHealth) from the University of Bath, a Master's Degree (Distinction) in Psychotherapy Studies from Sheffield University and a BSc. Degree (First Class Honours) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University.

I am fully professionally licenced, accredited and certified.

Accreditation

I am a fully accredited member of The Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and abide by its code of ethics.

Therapy Style

My style of talk therapy integrates the Person-Centred approach combined with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques. My role is to aid and facilitate one's awareness of issues and stressors and help the person to recognise choices which they may not have realised were there.

I practice in a non-judgemental manner and offer people space and opportunity to discuss whatever is causing their discontent in a safe and confidential setting. By exploring such matters, and in doing so developing a trust-based relationship, the person increases their awareness of the problem areas in their life and begins to look at options they may have for acceptance or change.
